Superintendent of Schools

Barry Waller

I am humbled and blessed to be the Superintendent of Schools for Toombs County. I am a life-long resident of Toombs County and proud to live and raise a family in such a great community. I am committed to working relentlessly for the students, staff, and community to continue the growth, and improvement of our school system.

One of the many improvements we have been blessed recently is to see our graduation rate eclipse the 90% mark for the first time in our school system’s history. Though we are proud of the growth, we will not rest until we see that mark at 100%. The schools in our system are also seeing high marks on the Georgia Milestones Tests and CCRPI Accountability Measures.

We have recently embarked on capital improvement measures that provided and facility upgrade to one of our elementary schools as well as a renovation to our historic football stadium. We also are in the process of constructing a new Athletic Complex while upgrading technology in our classrooms, Media Center makeovers at each school, and enhancing safety measures for every school in our system.

Though we have seen these several areas of growth, there is still work to be done. I promise to continue to work closely with the board members to ensure that all of our students have the access to a high quality education. Our system will continue to grow teachers and leaders in a way to give our staff the tools to help promote access, equity, success, and EXCELLENCE for ALL.

Toombs County Schools will continue to build community relationships and partnerships to provide opportunities for our students to excel beyond the classroom and learn ways to give back to our hometown.

As your Superintendent, I promise to you that the Board of Education members and I are committed to working with the teachers, students, and parents of the Toombs County School System to ensure that our school system vision of: EXCELLENCE for ALL achieved.
