LUES FIELD DAY:- At the middle school back field.

Do not go through the middle school, park in back.
Permission slips will be going home to WALK over along with WHAT TO BRING.
No Red and No Oranges from 4/26-5/10.
Students will be at the field during these times. Some teachers will choose to eat sack lunches at the field, and some teachers will eat in the lunchroom back at school.
3rd Grade 9:00-12:00- lunch and recess back at the school
4th Grade 9:00-10:00- LUNCH- back to the field at 12:00-2:00
5th Grade 9:00-11:00- LUNCH- back to the field 1:00-2:00
Please plan to come hang out with your child and have some fun. Ask teachers if they need help setting up a tent, bringing coolers/drinks/snacks, etc.
The last day for the Toombs County Afterschool Program will be Thursday, May 2.
Imago Dei Missions provides cost-free clothing and essentials to foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship families. Families are asked to bring a copy of their appropriate paperwork to verify eligibility on their 1st visit. May hours are listed on the attached flyer.
At the request of the Lyons Police Department:
If traveling North on Bulldog Road in the morning after dropping off your child(ren) at school, we ask that you use the intersection of Hwy 280 and Bulldog Road if wanting to turn left toward Vidalia.
Left turns onto Parker Street from Bulldog Road cause traffic to back up on Bulldog Road.
By following the directions of the LPD Officers, we can keep our morning traffic running smoothly.

The TCMS Afterschool Program has been cancelled today (4/25/2024). TCMS afterschool students are being transported home via bus or will call parents for pickup.

DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
Toombs Family Connections is partnering with the Toombs County Sheriff’s Department to promote the DEA Take Back Day on April 27th. Please collect your unused and expired medications and drop them off for safe disposal at the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office this Saturday (April 27th) anytime between 10 am and 2 pm.

We want to recognize our Administrative Professionals at LUES- Mrs. Tara Collins and Mrs. Brittany Wiggins. National Administrative Professionals' Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day, recognizes the professionals who keep an office running smoothly every day. We will celebrate these professionals on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The day recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. Central to LUES, these professionals keep our LUES office organized and efficient.
LUES AWARDS DAY: Last day of school- Friday, May 17th. 5th Grade- 8:30 a.m., 4th Grade- 10:00 a.m., 3rd grade: 11:00 a.m. Go ahead and mark on your calendar, ask off from work, and make plans to attend your child's ceremony at Toombs County High School. Can't wait to see you all there!
LUES CEREAL CHALLENGE UPDATE: 1st place- 3rd grade, 2nd place- 4th grade, 5th grade- 3rd place. We are a LONG way to getting to 500 boxes of cereal. Please add that donation to your grocery list.

LUES GMAS Update- Testing went great today! Please be on time (7:45 am), well-rested, and ready to show what you know Tuesday on the 2nd part of the ELA portion of the GMAS.
LUES GEORGIA MILESTONES REMINDERS:
Please be on time. School starts at 7:45 am. Students that are late will have to wait in the office until testing is over and then have to test separately after lunch.
ELA will be April 22, 23, 24
Math will be April 29
Science (5th grade only) April 30
